Another option is trolling and making Dearie and the DOJ/FBI sweat bullets.
They can’t really object to Dearie because they’d need proof Dearie wouldn’t be impartial/can’t handle the responsibilities of the job.
To say Dearie cannot be an impartial master would mean admitting the Carter Page warrant was A) based on lies/false info, making the DOJ/FBI look bad, and/or B) suggest to the normies that the judicial system truly is comp’ed/judges will sign off on political surveillance requests, just as Orange Man has suggested (proved) this entire time.
You got my noggin joggin! Great feedback!
A distinct possibility - I guess we have to wait and see. However...
This has already been proven. Clinesmith ring a bell?
The MSM pushed Clinesmith getting a slap on the wrist as proof that Russia Russia Russia was NBD. They continue to boast that Trump’s claims of malfeasance were BS because Clinesmith—and the second guy (that I can’t remember) who was found not guilty despite Durham’s team prosecuting—didn’t get thrown in Gitmo or whatever.
You and I both know they were either cooperating witnesses or they were sacrificed for bigger RICO fish.
But if the DOJ and FBI were to suddenly object to Dearie being the special master, the MSM narrative of « their guys » being on « the good side » would go down the toilet. Because they can only object on legal, factual grounds of shenanigans. Admitting to those shenanigans makes the whole DOJ/FBI bus suddenly lose its wheels.
Think about it: the MSM is continually spamming how « Trump appointed judges are impeding democracy and engaging in overreach of power. » If the DOJ suddenly objects to a judge they previously used for a Carter Page warrant that was BS, the MSM doesn’t have a way to twist that development back to the favor of the DS narrative.
It’s not about facts. It’s about optics. And Trump suggesting Dearie has made the DOJ/FBI find themselves in a damned if we do, damned if we don’t situation.
