I'm not going to lie, the thought of the end has always scared me to death. I've prayed for years to get past the fear but every time something like this comes up Infind myself in full panic attack that seems to last for days and its crippling. I can't even pick up my children or function when it happens. Has anyone else felt this way about it?
"Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh. For the Lord shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken." Proverbs 3:25-26 KJV
Remembering this helps me when I get scared.
That's awesome, I did scripture memorization to overcome my fear as a youth, "perfect love casts out fear"...........yup still works!
You know how “they” tried to scare us with covid nonsense and many other things throughout history. This fear you have is rooted the same. Do not worry, God will take care of his people. Give it to God. SoverignSon always says it best, such an inspiring anon in this community. Thank you for your contributions at what always seem to be the right moment.
I rejected all end time theology long ago, I find the literal interpretation of Revelation to be completely false, but I really like the spiritual interpretation of Revelation. I'm not scared of what Jesus is doing, he deos it in us first, then through us to the whole creation, all will be freed from the bondage of corruption. Check out that Revelation series I've been posting.
Yeah, just "spiritualize" everything away and it will be allllright.
He who has faith in the Lord should not fear....He has promised that "The meek shall inherent the earth". Meek does not mean weak, in the old testament it means faithful.
Blessings frens....
Ever since Jesus ascended, and sent His Holy Spirit, we are the Temple. No physical building required :)
See Ezekiel's prophecy concerning the 3rd Temple. Try not to spiritualize it away.
It is also foretold that animal sacrifice will be in place during Daniel’s 70th week (Tribulation) when the abomination of desolation sets himself up in the Temple.
I really don't study the old testament at all.
Luke 16:16 The law and the prophets were until John.....
That is talking about John the Baptist who preached repentance and the kingdom of God through the Son of God, Jesus Christ. All the Old Testament prophets are done, we are a New Testament church. I've studied about Jesus a little bit.. I don't "spiritualize everything away", I worship God in Spirit and in truth..............what is physical about that?
You really should, seeing Christ came to fulfill the Old Testament.
The New Testament is in the Old Testament concealed, while the Old Testament is in the New Testament revealed.
When one studies the OT in depth, the NT literally comes alive.
agreed! i.e History is fulfilled prophecy, and prophecy is unfulfilled history. May the temple be speedily rebuilt in our day!
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
You cannot really study the New Testament in isolation and understand it. The Bible is a hyperlinked document; if you study the New Testament in truth you cannot avoid studying the Old Testament. Keep at it and you will understand this truth.
What you say is true.
Rough numbers for how many times the OT is quoted or alluded to in the NT:
Quotes: 302
Allusions: 493
Possible allusions: 138
Total: 933
Truth isn't that hard, it is really quite simple, if you think I have to go all into the doctrines that men contrive from the Old Testament, you'd be wrong.
Don't get me wrong, I've read the whole Bible, I was raised in a fundamentalist church, I've heard the Old Testament taught, I simply don't need it now. I do enjoy someone who can teach it well, I can discern when they are teaching it well, but it is not a thing I need to concentrate on. I really like a particular teacher of Revelation, he knows his Old Testament quite well, I can discern that, but the Revelation is about Jesus Christ........who's body we are. Follow Jesus Christ.
Veeeeeeerrrry interesting.....
Thanks for posting fren!
This IS good news! Rosh ha Shannah is next weekend. What a time to be alive!!!
