Me and my brother are the only two in our family who have awakened. Trying to wake up my dad from his 50+ years of Baptist indoctrination is like pulling teeth. He gets the illuminati and moon hoax and 9/11 but he doesn't believe pedo rings exist or that Clinton really has a body count. And even bringing up higher dimensions, Antarctica, etc brings a very quick "where is this in the Bible?"
AAGGHH! I am wondering of the 4-6% are going to be the middle-aged Christians. It's very depressing when I can barely relate to dad anymore on politics.
The older you are, the harder it gets to shake the foundation of your worldview. It's unfortunate but understandable. At least your father has shown a willingness to challenge official narratives re: the illuminati and moon hoax - there's hope for him yet. :)
he knew about illuminati, moon hoax etc early on, and knew 9-11 was bs
He sounds like a keen and intuitive guy, give him time to come around on some other topics. I would hardly call him "asleep" compared to most people I know.
christians are very difficult to wake up because they think that only God can effect any big changes.
Yeah. Unpopular take here: I love Christians and consider myself one in a lot of ways, but I do think they have blinders on when it comes to the Bible.
Here's my view: if you can't trust a news article that was published yesterday, why do you trust a book that was published thousands of years ago, written secondhand about events that transpired centuries prior, then translated dozens of times and propped up as a cornerstone of our culture? You think the government hasn't already compromised such a book for their benefit?
Luke 23:34 is a perfect example:
This is a deliberate mistranslation that amounts to pacifist propaganda. Here's what it originally said:
The meaning was completely inverted. This might sound outrageous, but some of the philosophy in the modern Bible is outright Satanic.
That said, a man devoted to his faith probably won't want to hear this stuff. It is important though.

I don't believe age has anything to do with it. There are a lot of older pedes on here that are awake. I think it's something innate within a person. Either you're open to new ideas and are willing to think for yourself and do research, or you're not.
There's a reason we put kids into 12-year indoctrination camps starting from the earliest age possible.
We all begin as sponges for information - think of how "open minded" a preschooler must be that they can pick up skills like language or music so quickly. Much faster than an adult would. Over time, people become set in their ways as a consequence of biology. This isn't necessarily a bad thing if your map of reality is reasonably accurate. Unfortunately, though, it seems like most people haven't the slightest clue how life works - their worldviews are built on a foundation of lies, and the sooner they are exposed to redpills, the better chance they have at remedying the situation.
That said, there are some people who will/won't confront new ideas, no matter the age. Temperament plays a big role.
Put it this way: a 40-year-old and an 80-year-old do not have the same likelihood of undergoing a Great Awakening. This is not meant as a jab at the elderly. It's just an observation about how we live life.
