so out of 18 hrs he can drive it for around 5hrs, and prolly a range of about 180 miles tops! Much less in winter when more services are needed inside, oh and good luck if he needs to tow it lol.

Yes, much less in winter. I think cold weather requires more energy to run the battery heater.
