I haven’t seen this discussed anywhere, and maybe it’s because it is obvious to americans or maybe it’s because I got this all wrong, anyway:
After the midterms I suppose we all expect the Republicans to gain seats in both congress and the senate. If it truly is a tsunami, a red wave like never before; sixty seats in the senate and a majority in congress is at least what I expect.
Then Biden will become a lame duck, a president with no real power. Republicans in congress can come up with whatever they like, and Republicans in the senate will just pass it. Is Trump even needed to turn things around at that point? I belive things will change fast after the midterms.
Keep in mind that, after the November election, there is a period of about 50 days during which the outgoing Congress is still in office... before the new incoming Congress is seated.
They can rush through anything they want. Impeach Trump again? Pass all sorts of Green Energy garbage bills? Destroy the economy? Give more money away to political toadies? Declare war?
The end of November and all through December... there will be a Democrat House and Senate and a Democrat President. They can push through anything they like with hardly any debate on it. Don't be surprised if they do.
Manchin might be a little POd since it appears the dems are renigging on their side of the deal for him to support climate fiasco bill so they may not be able to get anything passed even using reconciliation tactic.
And Biden can still issue EO’s. Weaponize the Executive Branch DOJ/FBI/Military etc.
