Pretty sure Jesus would have mentioned this if it was necessary.
In the King James Version of the English Bible the text reads: The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

You probably do not see a lot of things. You are probably trapped in the Matrix like the majority. :(
Do yourself a favor and take control of your awakening and raise your consciousness. You are so close. Don't give up now.

Things like this are a distraction......
I recommend you read dark night of the soul,by st. John of the cross instead. Also the way of the pilgrim is good read.
IF it was recorded as him saying it, you would not have read it in the bible at all.
What you can read however, are references to it, or the preparation for it.
For instance, the lords prayer. Putting yourself on the spot to let God provide you with the food for your day. You do not do that. You are working your ass off.
consider the birds of heaven: they neither sow or reap, yet none drops to the floor dead or you father in heaven knows it.
consider the lilies of the field, clothed beautifully without sowing or reaping.
Fruit of the spirit: love, peace, joy. The other ones are designations of behavior flowing from the first three. Your soul-state.
Once you can read through the clutter ..... it becomes quite amazingly monotonous when you start to compare several traditions.
