Don't trust western medicine these days. My father has pretty bad arthritis, loves golf, and can't play due to his hands being so painful. Makes me sad to see his love of golf coming to an end.
Any of you know of supplements or cures to arthritis that western medicine has hidden from us? Know it is a long shot, but this place seems to be the only place where I get truth.
Thanks everyone. Love you all.
My uncle had very good luck with diet change. It worked while he stuck to the diet, but since has not been as strict, and is having flare ups again. He was diagnosed with psoriatic arthritis. The diet that helped him was to switch to real whole foods. Most important thing was eliminating refined sugars and nightshades. Lots of organic veggies. Grass fed meats. I think for meats he mainly did fish and chicken.
I've also heard borax/boron works really well, but don't know anyone who has tried it. This is a link I found somewhere on GAW: https://www.life-enthusiast.com/articles/medical-borax-conspiracy/
Interesting on the nightshades.
Nightshades are known to cause inflammation issues in some people. Not sure how reliable this site is, was just a top search result. But it explains science behind it: https://gundrymd.com/nightshades/
Also, people who are allergic to latex can cross react with tomatoes and potatoes. Looks like possibly other foods as well: https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/8732238/
thank you for this link. i'd heard of this doctor before from gaw, re: mineral depletion, etc, and i found this article fascinating. my husband is ordering borax as we speak. i have arthritic hands and he has rotary cuff arthritic pain. we shall see. but all of the comments on this thread are interesting and helpful. thanks all, frens!
I don't know anyone who has tried borax for arthritis. Please update if you can! ☺️ And I hope it works for you and your husband.
I tried it for a month and didn't notice any significant changes, unfortunately. Maybe it has to do with different types and causes, but I was disappointed. But I can't say if it made a difference with my mineral absorption. I never get sick, but that could be from the zinc supplements I take daily.
Thank you for getting back to me! Sorry it didn't work for you. Definitely might depend on what type of arthritis or if there's a specific underlying cause. Another thing to look into is MSM. Sorry for WebMD link... There's a lot of information out there, though.
