This is one of those lingering questions that we're all waiting excitedly to see what's revealed. I'm curious what everyone thinks will be revealed once the Vatican's basement is finally opened up.
Personally, and here me out here, I'm of the opinion/belief that there's a literal demon or two chained up in the basement and that's where all of this witchcraft and other evil "magic" crap the cabal practices comes from. If you think about it, it makes sense. Solomon summoned and bound 72 demons and then forced them to explain the inner workings of hell to him. So why wouldn't someone with more nefarious intents do something similar but extract knowledge on how to extend the human life/youth (Adrenochrome), manipulate the masses (Mass formation Hypnosis), create drugs that cause more problems than they solve (Pharmaceuticals), cause wars at the drop of a hat, etc. etc.
Plus, this lines up with the whole "Great Awakening" and Christian themes, as well as the prophesized mass resurgence of Christianity on a nationwide, and global scale by people like Kem Clement.
What else could cause people to turn back to God like we've never seen before, like undeniable, definitive proof of the existence of demons, the afterlife, and by extension, God, Jesus, The Holy, spirit, and Heaven?
I can't think of much else short of a literal miracle from God broadcast on a global scale. So that's my two cents on the topic. Of course I'm sure we'll find other things. Hordes of "lost artifacts" like nazi gold, lost books of the Bible, heck, we'll probably find the contents of the Library of Alexandria down there somewhere.
But I think the most earth shattering thing will be a literal demon or two chained up and bound in some esoteric ceremony that these people are using as a source of their knowledge. Afterall, we can't forget about that time that the Catholic Church's head exorcist, literally talked about the devil living in the Vatican can we?
Agreed. Further, then in vs. 24, Jesus said, "if anyone wants to come after Me, let him deny himSELF. The self that must be denied is the God created soul, created according to God, that was corrupted to become the self in the fall. The God created part is that which agrees with the law of God in Rom. 7, but the corrupted part is that which prevents us from doing what we want to do, and forces us to do what we don't want to do. The cross (take up your cross) frees us from the self (we no longer serve sin as slaves) so that we CAN follow Him.
We are created in the image of God. That is who we really are. We all have been led astray. Like Adam and Eve we all have decided that we know better than God what our life should be. Adam and Eve were created in the image of God. Just like us. They choose to become like God so they could live in their own image. Just like we do.
God is the creator. We are created in Gods image. We also have the ability to create. The world we have created is lead by the Spirit of lies. It is false and leads to death.
My point is this. Even though we have fallen away we are still what God created. We have bought into a lie and that lie only leads to death.
We are being called to walk with God. That does not mean that we reject the SELF that God created. It means that we reject the lie that hides the real self. We are called to reject what we may think of as self. Our real self is good. It is created by God and God declared when he finished creation that it was good. Our deluded self is not God created. It is a lie that will never live in truth (heaven).
While I agree with you I just cannot accept that a "God part" of us is something that must be denied.
Agreed: we are created in the image of God and that is who we really are. Agreed: we have the ability to create. Agreed: even though we have fallen, we are still what God created. Agreed: our real person is good.
Discussion: the good God created part of us is the soul, that is the faculties of mind, emotion, and will. Man became a living soul (Gen.2:7). Man's problem is not just that he was misled. It's that he took poison, the lie, into himself. That deadened his spirit, corrupted his soul to become the self, and made his body flesh. "In me, that is, in my flesh, nothing good dwells (Rom. 7:18)." So, the good created part of us agrees with the law of God, that it is good, and wants to work out the good (v. 18), but it is not able to, because there is a law working in our flesh, the law of sin and death that controls us. Paul ends chapter 7 by saying, "Wretched man that I am, who will deliver me from the body of this death." The solution then comes with the law of the Spirit of life in chp. 8.
It looks like we have slightly different ideas about what the soul is. I keep trying to understand the difference between The Soul, The Spirit and The body. Since I am not sure how to define the soul I will shut up. :) Of course I understand what the soul is but I am not happy with how I define it. Or at least how complete my definition is. Reading the definition in a book is not the same as knowing you know within your heart.
The only definition that counts is that in the Bible. I gave you some verses. There are many others if you look. The verses that deal with the heart show that it consists of the functions of the soul plus the conscience, which is part of the spirit.
