The UN's disapproval is a recommendation to the aware.
Surprising China did not vote, which I would have expected to be against.
It allows China to hold the optics of a neutral standing so as not to get backlash from the power-maddened UN members. In the past, China also abstained in favor of Russia over the annexation of Kosovo in 1999. (Hope I'm getting my facts right)
"The collective west" can think China won't come to help Russia if/when NATO attacks, but truth be told, China will be there to back up Russia. NATO doesn't stand a chance.
We're experiencing the growing pains of the world shifting from a "unipolar" to "multipolar." Unfortunately, how peaceful that transition will be, will be determined by how the normies react to a present day Cold War.
Thank you BRICS!
Indeed, why would they care?
Why does anyone care what Haiti and Zambia's opinion is about Ukraine?
Why would Fiji get a vote?
Why do all these Nations feel they "know what's best" for the people of these new territories of the Russian Federation? Do the voices of the people who live in these territories not matter?
Besides the failed Minsk Agreements gave autonomy to DPR and LPR, how does this vote by the UN relate to that? (Failed in the sense that the agreement did not stop the genocide of ethnic Russians in Ukraine by the Ukrainian government.)
So many questions that will never be answered by the virtuous UN...
