Funny but why does gluten free always get dragged into these things? Some of us have celiac disease you know. I don't want my necessary gluten free lifestyle to get confused with wokeism. Soy is a much better fit for these types.
As a fellow celiac disease suffere. I know what you mean. My daughter has it too. And Im a chick so it comes off even worse when I have to explain myself.
Like when everyones buying bagels for a work party and Im like, no thanks I can't.
Then I get pressured why. Then I have to explain.
Then I come off sounding like a pertincious jerk.
Same for my daughter. Shes 8 and has a hard time getting people to take her seriously at times.
These woke assholes diminish a real issues because they want to feel special. Celiac disease is not fun and its no joke.
I'm a girl too. Celiac disease nearly killed me. I can't believe two asswipes downvoted my comment. Me and both my kids have to live strict gluten free. I even went to school for natural wellness so I could help myself get better and I got ripped off by doctors for over 20 years. Most people have no idea the amount of effort that goes into not poisoning yourself on a daily basis since even basic gluten free labels aren't safe for celiac.
yeah, but gluten free has become something of a fad diet as well. Kinda like non-gmo a few years ago. There's a lot of people who hear about how their friend had a 'miracle' transformation in their health after going on this diet or that diet, and suddenly they wanna try too, even though they might have completely different dietary needs.
I will say homemade bread seems to 'cure' my lifelong constipation issues a little too well, though eating a high meat, lower carbohydrate diet did more (fell into it by accident)
The proper diet can cure damn near anything. Took me years to figure out all the changes I needed to make and then suddenly all my lifelong issues just started going away and I achieved the best health of my life. Non-gmo is not a fad diet. Gmo should be banned. And honestly, what we do to our wheat in america should also be banned. There is such a thing as gluten sensitivity, and those people have no issues when they consume gluten abroad. The american food supply is toxic.
sorry, didn't mean to step on toes. I don't mean it's always a fad, but it was treated like a fad a few years back.
same with gluten. it helps some people, and I respect that, but there's a lot of people who don't really need it, but do it because somebody who had a legitimate problem said to. It's all about your personal dietary needs.
It'd be like me telling a friend to stop drinking milk, because I'm lactose intolerant and it helped me, even though this friend may have no particular problem with lactose.
Besides, it'd also be hypocritical, because I'll never give up milk completely. it's too tasty.🤪😅
