Aug 2020 Jacob Blakes Father had this to say about "Brussel Sprouts" during an interview with Anderson Cooper. Blake Sr. responds to a question with: “Some say Brussels sprouts taste good.” Cooper paused for a few seconds and said, “Umm, I don’t get the reference,” prompting Blake Sr. to say, “I hate Brussels sprouts.” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ake4JQbsuY4
One month ago Ye chimed in with his thoughts on Brusell Sprouts. “I actually haven’t read any book,” West told hosts Danny Harris and Alyson Wilson.
“Reading is like eating Brussels sprouts for me. And talking is like getting the Giorgio Baldi corn ravioli.” https://nypost.com/2022/09/19/kanye-west-reading-books-is-like-eating-brussels-sprouts/
What I am saying here is everybody keep an eye on those brussel sprouts and the people who suddenly want to talk about them for what seems to be no reason at all.
THERE'S ANOTHER ASPECT PERHAPS:
Blood types 'A' and 'B' seem to naturally like the smell and taste of cooked Brussels Sprouts. 'O' blood types are generally repulsed by the smell and taste of them. It is a genetic thing, allegedly.
In the 1996 book by Naturopathic doctor Peter J. D'Adamo titled: Eat Right 4 Your Type : The Individualized Blood Type Diet® Solution, you'll learn how each blood type thrives when the right foods are eaten and the wrong foods are avoided. Knowing what your type is will help you improve your health and longevity.
Why is this? The working theory is that specific, unique antigens are found to be in each type of blood. Antigens will react to foods, environmental exposures and foreign substances differently in different blood types. Allergic reactions are triggered by an unhappy antigen. Learning what sets yours off is worth understanding.
I am type 0+ and I LOVE BRUSSEL SPROUTS and most all veggies. Don't know if this helps. My husband is type B and he HATES BRUSSEL SPROUTS.
My family is just the opposite. Husband and daughter - type 'A'. They both love and crave them. My son and I are type 'O'. We cannot stand the smell of them!
So weird.
I believe that God made us who we are to enjoy what we want as humans. He made each of us different and I don't think blood types have anything to do with food likes or dislikes. I'll bet if they had mushrooms on that list it would say type 0 loved them. Wrong for me. It's all in who you are.
Hay you all, I think this was a topic slide, stop it. OP was calling out an interdasting observation that might be a comm.
This explains everything. I love them (B-type) and hubby hates them (O). I love all cruciferous veggies cooked, but he only likes broccoli.
I’m A+ and cannot get enough of them. Longhorn has the best, imho but here’s a recipe very similar- I call them Brussels Sprouts Crack because they’re so good and addictive.
425 oven
1 bag fresh or frozen (you can cook frozen without thawing but if they’re rock hard, let thaw a little so you can cut them .) Wash, trim and cut BS in halves. Place on cookie sheet (I use parchment, too) toss with drizzle of olive oil, salt, pepper and about 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (use your own best judgement) Lay all the sprouts cut side up, spread out on pan. I have found they’re crispier with less oil so you don’t need a lot. Bake for 35 mins top rack or until some brown and crispy or longer for somewhat charred. I like them brown and crispy. They’re going to look kind of burned but trust me.. you want that.
Remove from pan, place in bowl, add 1-2 TBSP butter and drizzle of honey(about a TBSP.) Mix well and serve hot. I make them at least once a week.
I don’t care for the smell, to be honest. I always air out the house after because it smells like my dog took a dump indoors. Just sayin.
