“The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape finding oneself in the ranks of the insane.” “Very little is needed to make a happy life; it is all within yourself in your way of thinking.”
― Marcus Aurelius
He was a righteous man, that Marcus Dude.
The kingdom of heaven is within you
I've never fit. Ever. Weird kid from the start. They didn't understand me in the 70s, they don't now. But somewhere along the way I figured out that I didn't care. Why try so hard to be the 'they' that you're not? It's a worthless life, being fake.
Holden Caulfield approves of this observation....
He certainly did. But he'd probably look at me like wtf too lol
...just get yourself an Elmer Fudd cap and it would all be good....
Oh I had one of those until the dog ate it ;)
...howls...
...wascally woofer....
Amen
Guilty, here...always.
FYI: The "fitting in" content starts at 8 minutes into the video. The first 8 minutes are the speaker talking about "be careful of who you follow". The people we see presented in all forms of social media are carefully crafted to view a "persona" or a small slice of a person - not their entire self. This can be used maliciously to grift (grifting was the word he was looking for, not gatekeeping) the speaker's audience. A good commentary, but separate from the subject at hand.
I'm only about halfway through the video, but I already like what ashlanddog (great disguise and nice of you to finally reveal yourself as human!), err Howdie, is trying to convey when we live in a broken, absolutely insane world.
This just goes further to prove the point that not fitting in on earth should be a cue to us that we belong in the kingdom of Heaven. It's taken all of my life up to this year for me to figure it out, but it perfectly explains "not fitting in". The Bible tells us, in more or less words, that we are to be in this world, but not of this world.
The more the presenter talks, the more I feel at home here on GAW <3
...doggy winks...
...welcome aboard Matey!
Great video - thanks for sharing. You can tell Howdie has a ton of great wisdom.
Judging from the video titles of all the other stuff Howdie has put out, he doesn't seem to be Christian, but a number of them look interesting so I'll be checking them out.
On a final note, I yearn to find someone who is "vibrating" on the same frequency IRL Even the people I've met at church.....there are only a handful who even come close. They may be semi-awakened to the true nature of the vax, but if I suggested we're living out and participating in WW3, right now today....I'm gonna get weird looks.
...hold the line Patriot....
I’ve had the same experience thinking I’d find a few awakened at church. Got strange looks even giving my testimony of what brought me there. Thought I found 1 single person who then snubbed me. The only place I’ve found a good quantity of like minded folks is here on gaw and on Prayer Garden: https://prayergarden.go.studio/
Amen fren. Being awakened (as folks on here have said before), is as much of a curse as it is a blessing. Even those that have turned away from us, I believe they'll be looking for answers once TGA happens.....and that's when we can step in and provide comfort.
We March to the beat of a different drum for a very good reason!
We aren't insane!
When you have crazy people telling you that you aren't normal, you know you are on the right track!
...never forget the lesson that Yossarian had to learn...
You are a man of knowledge,Ash.

...your observation brought this to mind....

I never fit in to begin with and hav always walked a lonely road against the grain of immorality in a society gone wrong. If anyone has watched ‘The Chosen’ and seen the intro, well I’m one if those fishes going the opposite direction
..this world is not our home Pilgrim....
Yeah, I can identify...very often feel like a salmon swimming upstream...life can get very trying (and tiring) at times.
...you have to hang in there like a hair in a biscuit...

I’ve never really fit in, always felt more like an observer of others than an actual participant in most social occasions. What’s made it worse is that I’ve had people over a dozen times in the last few years tell me that I “give off serial killer vibes”, which is frankly beyond fucked up.
I miss a few verbal and body language social cues, have a high vocabulary level, and be a little bit on the spectrum, and I’m suddenly a suspect to be the next Ted Bundy or Jeffery Dahmer! These are people who don’t know me, finding suspicion in my kind and honest demeanor, making wild assumptions of someone who has no sociopathic tendencies, for the crime of trying to socialize while being socially awkward.
It really seems to be telling that this society is sick, when strangers can feel so comfortable labeling someone else, looking to make decent connections founded on good intentions, as one of the worst things a person can be, and frankly just makes me want to give up on most people, and wait for the hopeful society reset the WH have in store, before trying again
I've got that problem also.
When other people are in a flap about something trivial, and I suggest something rational to solve the issue, I'm accused of being difficult and strange.
I guess I'm expected to play along with their madness as they build a mole hill into a mountain of insanity.
Not this little Black duck. I'm not going to play that game!
“I’m mad!”
“Here’s a solution”
“I don’t want a solution, I want to be mad!”
...it is sad when just being friendly classifies one as a "freak".....
In the military I lost count of the "you look like you're going to shoot someone"
Like bro, just leave me alone and mind your own business. Kek
Of course I don't fit in. I am a conformist, that's why. Be different, conform!
...howls...
I LOVE this post. Finally I see others who deep inside are like me...I'm not the only one.
The youngest in my family I was ignored, not taught anything, just existed as the family gopher. I always saw I was different because I 'educated' myself. No pitying here because I learned to think for myself and not fall into the traps siblings got into.
Where siblings turned to greed (always stealing, cheating but never having enough) I turned to God and praise Him because He has blessed me with more than enough.
...God's sheep know his voice....
Feeling that contrast and questioning myself a bit but you’ve reminded me of why I’d rather be riding a horse than hanging out at a bar with friends. I’ve always been that way but it’s become harder to pretend I enjoy going out these days.
...horses don't disappoint you....
Thanks for posting this. I'm downloading a bunch more of his videos right now.
