She even tried to play ball with [them] and [they] still screwed her. This is not an endorsement of Liz Truss, but it's clear she got fooked. If that's not "in your face" enough to wake the Brits up, I'm not sure what is.
Could it be due to the fact that PMs are entitled to an allowance of up to £115,000 (~$130,000) a year to cover the costs of their ongoing public engagements?
That made me so mad. You spend a few months in a position, and you're taken care of for life even if you quit??? The hell??
And how everyone in the MSM kept claiming that she would was on to bigger and better afterwards... It's like she played her part exactly, and is now thinking she is golden following in the footsteps of her formers, I really hope she knows it's changing. And not in her favor...
Anyway, short rant over. But good point bringing that up Anon!! Solid Observation!!
It was actually reported by MSM (but when I heard it, I thought they said $750,000/yr, rather than the $150,000/yr :) )
Meaning she did it to gain access to that allowance even if she only served 44 days? Smells like a payoff if that is what you are implying....
Exactly what I implied. Who wouldn't do a job like that for less than 3 months knowing that you can just quit and get more than $100K/yr the rest of your life?
I facetiously joke with people that they should run for House of Reps solely because apparently you can pocket up to 150k of campaign donations to pay yourself each year you run. Seems like someone could make quite a racket out of running every 2 years and earn up to an average of 75k.
