When the Republican majority re-takes the House in January, the representatives-elect must vote on a new House Speaker. To win as Speaker of the House, a person must secure a simple majority of those present and voting. If all 435 Representatives vote, then all it requires is for a person to get majority 218 votes to become the new Speaker of the House.
Imagine that Republicans win a total of 240 to 260+/- seats out of the 435 Representative seats in the Houses. Typically, just Republicans will vote for a Republican speaker, while Democrats will vote for a Democrat speaker. This time may be different.
Consider RINO McCarthy. If Democrats really want him to be the speaker, because he is a low-life Deep State sell-out scumbag (like themselves)... then Democrats can organize to vote for McCarthy as Speaker. That would give him 175 votes (all Democrats) toward having the simple majority. Then all McCarthy would need to become speaker is an extra 43 votes out of the remaining 260+ Republican representatives. That means if simply 1 in every 6 Republican House members votes for McCarthy along with all of the Democrats voting for him... then he wins. Even if 5 in every 6 Republican members voted for someone else as Speaker... Democrats can get together and screw it all up to get his sorry butt elected, knowing that McCarthy will be a P.O.S. RINO for them.
If the Democrat House members all get together and decide to vote for McCarthy, then only 18% of the Republicans present (RINO's, scumbags, bribe takers, blackmailed) need to vote for McCarthy... and he's in the Speaker position.
I'm just saying that, regardless of what the Republican majority wants, we could end up with that RINO as Speaker.
Great analysis fren! It would allow more exposure of RINOs. And more RINOs to be voted out in 2026 mid-terms. Like Trump says, 'this isn't just another four year election.' It's going to take years to do House cleaning!
House minority leader is selected by a vote of the PARTY members of the minority party.
A Speaker of the House is elected based on a simple majority vote of all House members present. Typically, Democrats will vote for a Democrat, while Republicans will vote for a Republican... but it doesn't have to be that way. If it's in their best interest to do so, minority Democrats can vote for a Republican of their choice to be Speaker.
