Do we still need to use Nitter instead of directly posting Twitter links?

Maybe Twitter might be allowed our support now.

Good question. I seem to be able to browse Twitter without an account now when I couldn't before. I could bring up a page but couldn't scroll far without it asking for a login and freezing there. Just now it still asked for a login but when I closed the box I could still scroll and search freely.
