What is this thread all about?
Just a place for general discussion. A place to unload whats on your mind and talk about anything - personal, health, help needed, achievements, daily highs and daily lows, theories, predictions and what have you.
Does not need to be Q related.
Discogs. I've found TONS of "hole in the collection"* stuff there. I haven't sold anything so I don't know what their terms are for that. Note that generally I don't go under NM/M- as grading for whatever reason is often off by one - VG+ is my minimum acceptable unless I'm desperate so I stick with NM/M- generally to make sure it's at least VG+.

*Most of my vinyl is from say around '93 to '98, with the bulk of it '95-'96 or before, underground dance stuff. I recently did a spreadsheet after realizing some things have gotten ridiculous, so even with stuff that's still a buck or 2, my collection has actually roughly doubled in value now as there will be some random thing, often not even a record I thought was that great, that's 80 bucks or something. Anyway, the main point is there are things I missed or didn't know about then and figured I'd never have the chance to procure on vinyl, and this site has been a godsend (important because I still only DJ on vinyl - for multiple reasons, I was never interested in switching to digital).
While on the subject, I just got a pair of Ortofon Concorde Elites. I can't believe how good they are - guys with audiophile decks are probably like "yeah, yeah" but if you need a cart that can handle DJ duty (backcueing to find cue point primarily in my case)(these are not for heavy use like scratching) yet offer high-fi needle (nude) they are a revelation and worth the price premium over the Club Mk 2s.
Thank you!! I like how you seem to relate to every post I put up. ;)
Also, check this out - I found this when I was researching needle wear (long story but how this whole cart-replacement saga started):

(I haven't poked around further on this site - it's on my radar - but I bet there's fuck tons of interesting stuff.)
I have my theories but fortunately I just find it amusing....
LOL yeah I've noticed this too. We definitely seem to have sympathetic musical priorities.
If you have suggestions for similar groups like Weather Report or Pat Metheny Group, I'm all ears!
Heh, sorry, I'm barely into that genre of stuff. Like I have Heavy Weather but only listen to you-know-what LOL.
Damn it, I keep toying with the idea of getting a fretless, and if doing that it seems the Jaco is worth it (only a couple hundred over regular Fender US)...above video not helping
