They know the research shows dissenting comments reduce the persuasiveness of their propaganda, while likes and approving comments have no such persuasive power.

--Comments in agreement with article content have no such persuasive impact.
That is absolutely true. When I buy something I ALWAYS check the comments and even one well stated criticism about a product gives me pause and often a few negatives will stop my purchase even if overall it has a decent rating. It's funny because Amazon sent me a survey once that I filled out and they asked questions about whether or not I believe they were manipulating the comments and of course my answer was YES...absolutely. I had read some people's complaints that their comments were eliminated or they weren't accepted so really...how stupid do they think we are!
Interesting to note as it would seem to be go against most NPC herd behavior. Maybe there's something in their programming that makes them be on the lookout for "the next credible narrative".
At some point the cabal has to switch their programs to fulfill current needs. Maybe during this "context switch" they are vulnerable to being reprogrammed by an enemy force, or simple going off and operating independently (imagine a PC becoming air-gapped from the Internet).
Operating Warp Speed caused their programs to be swapped so rapidly that it was bound to cause misfires and information leakage.
Maybe the NPC mind is on the look out for things which have total consensus. Aiming for a conflict-free belief system, they want to avoid any and all dissenting comment and opinion.
"If i adopt this belief / buy this product / agree with this idea, there will be people who might challenge me! As an NPC this scares me so I shall just keep looking."
