You make good points. Maybe in time I'd be more receptive. The honest truth though is that I'm still less than six months into recovery and throughout many years of using I strongly believed everyone should have the right to choose and therefore thought of dealers as providing that choice (while still recognizing some as undeniable scumbags). I already no longer feel as strongly in these beliefs anymore though.
Congratulations and best wishes, on your recovery. I grew up with alcoholic parents, and have three siblings who have had various substance abuse problems. The thing I was most addicted to in the past was surfing :) Seriously, I would spend every waking hour thinking about it, looking at weather forecasts, and surfing when I could. I think seeing the effects of substance addiction is probably why I never got trapped by it, but it could just be biological; I never got such a thrill out of drunkenness or being stoned, with pot the "hardest" drug I ever tried :)
