I think the definition of Socialist has a diverging meaning. It can be bad - as in verging on commie, (in the USA), but there are many in Eastern Europe especially, where such people are also Christian or Orthodox, who use socialism as a catch-all phrase to mean they are 'for the people'.
Her bio on wiki says she was a Social Democrat - which may seem like a confirmation to Americans (i.e. democrats are all commies), but it has a different meaning over in Eastern Europe - sort of like: coming from an ex-soviet perspective, and warming up to the idea of how Democracy is supposed to work. There are quite a few academic papers from that area that are adjusting to post-Sovietism.
Also she has a PhD in law from a Western University - I know some pedes here scoff at that, but I think she'll turn out to be ok. A PhD takes a lot of work, re-wires ones brain to research, and under plenty of supervision. We shall see, when we judge her by her actions, I suppose. IDK, she owns a Russian farm and a Phantom, but that doesn't mean anything - Trump owns all sorts of toys. She might be good for talking to Putin, who also has a legal background. Mind you owning a Russian farm may indicate that she will certainly lend a friendly ear to Russia - Which is a good thing, in terms of self-preservation, in my mind.
Her connection to the Trumps is very interdasting BTW.
I thought she was a socialist.
Independent
Bernie...?
I think we can take some confidence from Melania's character judgment in selecting her for her personal counsel.
