[HA so true!] And coats! In the 1920s you could buy a car with racoon pelts . . .

Learning...plotting...eating.
being cute and fuzzy
with sharp teeth and claws . . . they can be vicious
So can we.
Another great one weaponized and deployed.
We have raccoons I’ve never had a problem with them around the house. It’s a big thing in the south to coon hunting in the south. They go at night with dogs. The dogs run the coons up the tree. I guess they eat them. I don’t. My grandfather hunted squirrels and rabbits, I grew up eating it but never seen coons cooked. Have you ever been deep in the application mountains? The homeowners have wooden trash boxes at the road away from the house to keep the bears out. I guess they have a lock. Raccoons & bears might be the worst animals that go through the trash. Found this link, resembles what I’ve seen in mountains.

I bought a 1st gen Xbox with muskrat pelts so there’s inflation
My brothers used to trap, sometimes I would go out with them to check the traps. Don't know what they bought with the proceeds but they didn't catch a lot.
So what is the value of a 1st gen Xbox since there is one in the basement to be sold or donated? NOT bought with pelts but with $!
Your labor paid off! Even if it was an Xbox instead of an automobile!
My grandpa told me putting something shiny in a hole with nails point inward worked well. Raccoon reaches in, grasps object and its closed fist cant be pulled back past the nails. Easy pickings. No raccoons where I'm at so never tried. Sounds legit.
