The numbers go up and down as bots are purged.
It just reset to below 50k.
Certainly some fuckery going on. It will get sorted at some point, though. I finally have faith that twitter will actually sort it out the right way for once.
It's not only bots. I followed him maybe 10 times already since he was reinstated. Twitter keeps automatically unfollowing him for me. I saw him go from 25k to 2.3 mil and now back to like 125k.
There is an Elon tweet stickied on patriots.win. He says that engineers are working on restoring Trumps followers.

Servers can keep up. haha Most of those numbers are likely cached, and when there's a huge influx... well, it's a mess.
