I agree and up until a short time ago Elon was suckling at the government’s tit. All I’m saying is recent events are not enough to show a trend. Critical thinking requires questioning everything while also relying on data and trends. You can be an idiot either way by believing anything or not trusting anything. All I’m saying is the jury is still out on Musk’s altruism.
And "the jury" may never come in. That's the way it is with people. What is "altruism"? Is it a codified procedure or specification? Isn't it more what people do in a general sense with the means and patience and goodwill at their disposal, according to their lights? It's hard enough to judge sin, but harder yet to judge charity and mercy.
If we have to worry about Musk's altruism, we are blessed with no serious concerns. Is it "altruistic" that he provides us with a reliable and safe means of transportation into space? No, I don't think so. Is it any less beneficial to humanity?
