Well, there is that. It was the first example I could bring to mind of a purely ideological rejection, On second thought, I did recall their disappointing and sometimes pernicious products. But they can produce quality when that is required, even in humble products. I have a Chinese-copy Tokarev 33 and it is quite adequate, being built to original Soviet standards. If you can think of a better substitute than "Chinese," I would welcome that.

I bought a heated jacket from a company called Ororo; unfortunately they're made in China. But it's actually a great jacket; very warm even when not turned on. I go to work wearing just a button down shirt and that (obviously pants too), and I rarely get cold. Here's a link
