That would be interesting to check.
The main point though is that America is pretty good except for a few pockets of gangster criminals that we aren't allowed to notice due to skin color, but we let those pockets define us in the eyes of the world.... for some reason? That's like you have a school and four kids get in fights every day while the rest of the kids are perfect angels, but everyone in town says that's the violent school. 99% of the kids have never been in a fight and never will.
I'm abroad right now and meet people here who have lived in the US. If political discussions come up they often say something about how scary America is due to guns. I usually ask how many shootings they saw. Zero. I ask how many guns they saw (except for police) usually zero. Were they ever robbed or threatened, etc... usually not. I know some people that were mugged in the UK though...
Anyway, if we were honest about where our crime comes from (not by being racist, but by being honest. No need to do anything to nice people who share the races involved in the crime) we could take steps to do something about it.
I lived in the Philippines for 3 years and felt reasonably safe except the big cities...
Grew up in Orlando and experienced theft from home 5 times and cars twice.
Now in Nashville seems relatively safe except the large population of mostly white crazies on the streets.
