The crying shame, Christian’s are the most pathetically gullable! Used to wonder how the anti-Christ would deceive so many! The largest, most evangelical churches, literally held Covid vaccination drives! Sheep who are following the wrong Shepherd! I did not leave the church! It left me! God save us!
Gullible? No, just not spiritual. If people understood spirituality to mean following God's Word as it should be understood.
False doctrine is the problem, false preachers and fake churches which most are. The church isn't a building or organization run by ecclesiastical bodies. God runs His church amd if you understand that this shit all becomes very easy.
Keeping Jesus and His word at the forefront of your mind and filtering all thoughts through them is how you keep from being deceived. Spiritual armor protects you from false doctrine and a debased mind. Our flesh is weak but our spirit joined with Christ is impervious to attack. I opened my Bible to quote 2 Peter but this daily verse popped up and I found it fitting so I’m gonna follow His lead. Isaiah 57:15 “For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.” We must humble ourselves and play our role in His script not try to fit Him into ours. Woke is broke no matter where it takes place.
Amen. Yea it's amazing what keeping in the word can do. Also that verse is perfect, because part of this woke thing infiltrating the "church" is pride. A humble and contrite spirit is not easily acquired it seems, as this pride gets in the way. We could EACH do with eliminating pride. It's wonderful when it goes away, you start to see clearly. Humility is not self-denigrating, it's an accurate appraisal of self.
The Church is not perfect, if it were, it wouldn't have needed Christ's sacrifice. We all individually need to seek God and pay close attention to His Son. Our own positions and capabilities in this world will be used by Him for His purposes, which are good and right. False teachers are a problem, but not so much when you are seeking Jesus, surrounded by others seeking Jesus. And staying humble in our spirit we see the whole battlefield as it is, and staying contrite in our spirit, we remember the cost of the battle, which is sin. Sin, and ultimately, its wages; death.
It's always the same thing for the same good reason! Stay in the word!!
Gods church is perfect. What is not perfect are the places calling themselves a church that aren't churches. They're just man made organizations full of bullshit.
I would put emphasis on Mathew, Mark, Luke and John. That is all anyone needs to start their journey. Most of the rest of the Book is optional and can be studied at one's own discretion.
In the end, Jesus judges our hearts, individually. And Mathew 25 seems to support Peter's interpretation that faith without works is dead...
Faith without works is dead because works are a manifestation of faith and love. Not as duty or for salvation. For we are saved by faith in Jesus alone. The law is like a lion that paces and lays in wait to devour anyone in its path and is never satisfied as it will surely always grow hungry again. Until Jesus that is. He fulfilled the law. Meaning His perfect sacrifice satisfies the laws appetite. The law has no more power. Do we ignore the law? Certainly not for it is our desire to be obedient so we abide out of love. However, the law is perfect and we are not so we need Jesus to fulfill the law for us. Paul makes this clear. Romans chapter 7, Galatians Chapters 3 & 4. Jesus intercedes on our behalf at judgement. The Father will see Jesus in us not our sin. Jesus is our savior. It is his sacrifice and our faith in its power that saves us. Stop feeling guilt. Stop feeling unworthy for Jesus has saved us. We are sealed in the Holy Spirit and cannot be removed from His grasp. God bless and share the good news of salvation through faith in Christ.
What are the works? Works without faith is dead. Show me your works and I will show you my faith. Faith alone in Christ alone. None of the Bible is optional.
What does faith without works being dead mean?
That's nowhere near as unequivocal a statement as something like Romans 10:9 or Ephesians 2:8-9
Truth! ❤️
No kidding ! This upset / pissed me off !
It is troubling how the churches are part of the problem.
You never needed the church. "Where two or more of my people gather, there I am also." The church needs followers more than followers need the church. It's Paul's influence that created a bunch of man made addons that are likely not even applicable.
But Paul wasn't the first... nor the last... in the years leading up to Christ's arrival, the ancient texts were also likely perverted and distorted by other ambitious and well meaning false prophets.
In an ideal world where the Bible couldn't be molested by man's corruption, the Book would probably be its own Library of Congress if not bigger. And yes, the ideas would contradict themselves, but that doesn't mean they would be wrong. We are all supposed to be writing our own books to add to the great story, but instead someone assumed John's words at the end of Revelation to be absolute for all continuing works... even though he wrote it before most of Paul's letters were added...
There's a lot we have been lied to about. And a lot we will be lied to about to come... but I believe Jesus meant everything when He said "all that is unknown will be known" and that time or a time like it is coming very soon.
