Why does Australia adopt crappy celebrations from US culture and leave out the really good ones?
Adopted: Valentines day
Not adopted: July 4th Liberty celebrations
Adopted: Halloween (aka let's enjoy occultism day)
Not Adopted: Thanksgiving (celebrating thanks and gratitude)
Adopted: Black Friday
Hint: which of the above can you commercialize and sell heaps of merchandise to consumerist culture sheep?
Answer: Chocolate, chocolate and costumes, sales!!!
It has become exceedingly clear that the core driver in Australian mainstream culture has, for decades, been the corporatized wanna-be elties. Now, around Val's Day, Hallow Day and even, for Pete's sake, BLACK FRIDAY (grrrrrr......) there is massive advertising and and merchdize dominating the stores, including the Coles/Woolies duopoly, and the normies gobble it up. Yet, thanksgiving? Nope. Independence (or at least celebration of liberty?) Nope.

I can understand why they don’t celebrate July 4th. Independence Day is ALL AMERICAN - as Australia is still under the crown.
No, of course. It wouldn't make sense to celebrate July 4th. But I meant in terms of the bigger picture, Australian corporate control has dictated that Australia only adopts American things that they can commercialize.
I agree with you on that for sure. Yes of course you’re gonna choose the holidays that are going to make them the most money. And anything to do with Satan.
Right, we don’t celebrate other countries independence type holidays. Like Canada thanksgiving, I used to see posts on social media about it. I’ve noticed the calendars I buy has every religious day and some other countries holidays. I get it but don’t want to celebrate Ramadan.
