I was helping a friend of mine in his 70s (vaxxed to the max) get his lawn tractor running for his fall clean up routine and I diagnosed that the battery was DEAD, has dead cells. Won't take a charge. Well, we pulled it out and he went and bought a new one.

The next day I return to help him and he says to me...

"I feel like I am missing 2 to 3 years of my memory."

The statement shocked me and I asked "What do you mean, like completely missing like you were in a coma for years or something?"

He says, "Well, like that battery for the tractor, I would of sworn I bought it just two or two and a half years ago, but when I turned in the core I looked at the date on it and it was bought 5 years ago. The same time I got a new battery for my boat. I remember buying them very clearly, and it feels like it was just 2 years ago."

I asked him a few questions and he does remember things we did in the last 3 years but his mind is compressing it down into 1 year. He feels like we did it all with in the last year.

I haven't had a chance to question him more, but I have observed that he is not doing the things he used to love doing outdoors the way he used to. I figured probably age catching up to him, but now thinking about it... the shots seemed to have dulled him, mentally and physically. There was always a light in his eye and an excitement in his attitude, both faded right after his first shot. :(
