It's one thing to say "they cheated" or "the election was rigged/stolen", etc. It's another to get to why and how using specific Constitutional language.
By linking the ideas of Redress of Grievances to the government's duty and failure to uphold their oaths of office, the Constitution can then be used to supply the remedy, which the SCOTUS case does: removal from office for all the traitors, ineligibility for future office holding, jail time, and fines.
Uncharted in the sense that this kind of thing has never happened here before, but hardly unforseen by the Founders. Bless them.
It has in fact happened before in other levels, just not at the POTUS level. Courts have ordered elections to be redone after discovery of fraud. The solution is actually rather simple. Fraud vitiates everything, therefore the court can rule this election invalid and order a do over.
