As a 40-year weapons maker, I can testify there are no "god complexes" at work in the making of weapons. There are too many nearly-intractable problems to solve, and the solutions are not easy. And we are always in a footrace with the Other Side, so there is no rest. We have a feckless customer who is willing to let design teams wither and vanish, and hard-won technology comes, goes, and becomes history.
If you are not in the business, please don't imagine you know anything about it. Or about the people in it. This idea of "god complexes" is fatuous nonsense.
That's quite hilarious, thank you. Best joke all day.
Eisenhower and JFK both utilized their farewell speeches to warn of just that contingency.....what did they say about them again, you don't remember.
Maybe you could discover that and get back with me on all the death ray stuff too. I really like the scientific name. How did that work out for Tesla btw?
The other side could invent deadly viruses....and so we should first, just in case ...for the same exact reason .....no wait....'we' did......
I know the circular argument. Y'all need guardrails, Frankenstein.
And please don't imagine that I actually don't know anything about 'it', Prometheus.
I have a decent background in scalar frequency weaponization theories, surprise.
Rave on, you aren't classified.
Nothing god-like about greed. But that is at the corporate level, not the weapon-making level. The man who holds the purse-strings calls the tune. Plenty of people in government with a god complex. But you would still have to name them and prove them out. Too much sloppy thinking being accepted on this page.
You want death rays? Check out YAL-1A.
Right now, I don't have any reason to imagine you know anything about it. The default position is to disregard you. You want to cough up credentials or experience, go ahead.
My experience was not a joke. If yours was a joke, I might pity you.
Actually, you might take your ill-informed pity party to the OP who actually made the comment that weapons makers have a god complex, not this guy who made a joke about it.
i don't have any reason to believe anybody calling themself DeathRayDesigner outside of classification is anything but a LARP. Anybody can say 'go check out (provide link). Did you make that? I didn't think so.
Wtf are you going on about? You're butthurt by another person's statement and now suddenly you wish i have to prove what I know about scalar energy weaponized?
You just legitimized the OP's statement while making a ridiculous statement proving you're a shit LARP. '...at the corporate level, not the weapon-making level'. Holy cow that full retard right there. There's little to no difference and you'd know that.
Since you're spewing sans classification, go ahead and reveal this 'experience' that was not a joke. You're now the only one with 'experiences'.
You assume a lot don't you. Yes you do.
In your words, 'you want to cough up credentials or experience, go ahead'.
You see...it's YOUR game to do it to prove worth so I'll wait here for it.
Dig a hole.
nevermind, i'll do it for you
You're retired from a corporation with military ties or vice-versa. Some mid level desk type pencil job maybe, or sales perhaps, who can now lay claim to all products produced from said corporation and must now defend all weapons making from jokes that hit over the target.
I stand defeated.
Okay, I have a bachelor's, a master's, and a master of aeronautics and aeronautics from the University of Washington (Seattle). I worked for a major aircraft and strategic weapons contractor. I have 9 patents for related technology.
I edited and re-wrote portions of the final proposal that won the $1.4B development contract for YAL-1A. I did preliminary designs and mission analysis for the airborne laser concept in the 1970s and further mission analysis in the 2010s. In the 1980s, I invented a propulsion system design concept that led to the development of the first solid propellant 3-axis stabilized kinetic energy weapon (Lightweight Exo-Atmospheric Projectile). Through a sequence of corporate legacy transfers (to Hughes, to Raytheon), it was the forerunner of the warhead on the Standard 3 missile. Early in my career, I did propulsion and system engineering for the American version of the Euromissile Roland 2 anti-aircraft missile. Other stuff I can't talk about (assuming you would even understand it).
I don't have to assume anything I didn't do. So far, you are just a blowhard with no experience or credentials to cite. And I know the "weapons-making" business from the inside at the engineering and technology level. I merely resent stupid disparagement of my profession and colleagues by people who don't know any better.
Don't bother to reply. I asked for your bona fides and all you put on the table was snark.
