First, don’t use ring. Second, don’t open ports on your system when connected to the internet. Third, use a completely separate VLAN and or Subnet for your camera system. And finally, configure a VPN to connect to your cameras. NEVER open a port or use a P2P or Cloud Service QR code connection. That’s opening you up to getting hacked
Okay I have no idea about VLAN, VPN, Subnet or the other stuff, but do need some new outside cameras and just know I don't want ring. Can you please come and help me pick out and set up some cameras outside my house? jk :) Seriously I really don't know what those things are, not very tech savvy I'm afraid.
Maybe check out Rob Braxman privacy expert and search for CC (closed circuit) systems, that don't connect to the internet at all. Old school save-to-tape or disk.
