I don’t think it is unheard of that someone other than the sitting “president” negotiate the release of a POW. Anyone have any info on this?

Didn't Clinton go to get idiot students freed? Several years ago? EDIT : looked it up - 2009 Clinton flew to N Korea and got two Asian American citizens released.
