where I am we are having one of those post card snow falls. It is gorgeous outside, around 30, but no wind, about a foot of snow already, it is so silent. The dogs are shushing their nozzles like plows in the snow, the old collie is rolling and bounding, the young fool bird dog is leaping like a kangaroo, his mustache full of snow clots and his legs looking like wooly chaps. It is so soft and quiet and the road is empty, the plow has not gone by yet, and most of us up here have 4wd and good tires, if we have to go beyond our front doors, but, most of us don't.All settled in an binging Fargo, I just discovered it and I am knee deep in it. A lifetime in the north and you learn one of your most important relationships is with the winter. If you don't love it, it won't work out. But if you do, it makes home feel so much more precious than anything else.
I’m not a big snow fan but there’s some advantages. I love the quiet snow brings especially in the country and woods. I watched Fargo years ago and was obsessed also. In my opinion the first three seasons are excellent. I lost interest after that. Maybe one day I’ll finish it. I’ve lost interest in some TV series and years later I can’t stop watching. I think my mood on life makes a big difference. Enjoy your peaceful time while life slows down.
There's a new little indie group called Captain Billy's Whizz Bang and they have just released Silent Night, sort of redemptive blues. It fits more of a city snow, but maybe someone here will like it. Spotify, YouTube, itunes. (I might know someone in the family of someone who's doing something like that)
We've hardly had serious cold here yet, definitely not snow weather. If we'd known that we'd end up working remotely, we might have moved further north.
