Dope meme. Keep it up.
I like the banter going on in other comments, but wanted to pass along that I had a completely different take on the meme.
I see the child as a normie desperately wanting to believe what he's seeing in reality with so-called hoaxes and the dad is the media and every other outlet that is desperately trying to keep the public asleep.
I saw that too.
Know what's more problematic than telling children Santa is real?
Unnecessarily hyperbolic assholism.
How to concern troll.
Step 1, identify core values of your audience.
Step 2, portray your own values as even more strict and concerned as audience.
Step 3, be the biggest asshole you can while attempting to enforce the even-stricter values.
A conservative estimate would be you've identified over 95% of conservatives as the enemy. You've taken over a century of American culture and shit all over it.
Exactly my point, reinforced again.
Unnecessarily hostile. Like you're taking a sledgehammer to someone's head for jaywalking.
Who are you shitting on? Not democrats. They don't care about Christmas.
The simple fact calling someone a cultist for engaging in harmless American cultural traditions is over-the-board ridiculous trolling.
You're nothing but a lvl 1 concern troll who hasn't thought out a single argument beyond how hostile you can be to people you clearly hate.
Why so grumpy on the day Christ's birth is celebrated? You're dripping with hatred.
Not only that. These children are led into thinking presents from santa are the entire reason for Christmas and it detaches the spirit of giving between family and what God gave the world, His one and only Son Jesus Christ.
Quite literally says Christmas-> Christ Mass.
It is sad.
Ah I thought this too it has become apparent that cultures have always regulated what and how much "truth" children see. It seems as appropriate to keep children innocent until an agreed upon time which our culture has chose as 18. Its hard to see how the lie of tooth fairy, Santa etc helps because the true meaning is hidden an obscured. The idea use to be that you would give a gift, not Santa would bring one for you but simple things like this have changed and made it seem as it is. I think it's important there a "lies" kept by parents from there children just like how I see it's highly inappropriate for those vegetarian activists to stand in public places with a TV screen showing cows being slaughtered, while young children sre watching. Its the same for murder, rape etc it goes on but we dont have to have young children understanding and being showed it. I mean if your father owns an abittoir maybe you will be subject to that truth earlier.
I'm with you. I lost some trust in my parents when I figured these things out. I don't talk Santa Claus to my son, even though his mother does. Childhood can be wonderful without Satan Claus, The Easter Bunny, or any other distraction from a Christian holiday. To anyone who thinks I'm an asshole: you can keep doing what you want to do, and I'll do what I want to do. Live and let live.
The real obscenity is blatantly ignoring the numerous ways we deceive children, and the necessity of doing so. Imagination is an important part of childhood development.
Nailed it. We lie to our kids and teach them to accept it until they dont and call us liars. Yeah your kids the truth. Santa and everything thst goes with it are programming
‘Christ’mas is supposed to be about Jesus Christ, not an imaginary man with superpowers. Jesus gave us the greatest gift of all time.
Santa is based on St Nicholas who fought (literally) to keep the focus of the church on Jesus as the son of God. St Nicholas was famous for his generosity to the poor and giving gifts to children. I highly recommend Kirk Cameron's show "Saving Christmas" which dives into the history behind our Christmas traditions. It was informative and entertaining.
The story of Santa Claus gets really dark if you start to look into it.
The gifts weren't to the children, they were to the parents.FOR the children.
The muffin man is a tale that was told to warn children about an actual serial killer.
Thank you, I was just thinking that I need to watch a good movie tonight & this one sounds great!
I agree completely with you. However, this is a good meme!! One of the best to point out a group going along with the narrative. Santa is to make kids dream of the future. Christ is the future we can all dream of!! Good stuff!!! Jesus talked in parables, just like memes. We need to pick our battles. God is big enough to handle santa! God bless!!!!!
