American cops love car chases. They always seem to have the whole thing filmed by a helicopter so it makes me wonder why they don't just follow the suspect with the chopper and arrest him when he stops. Why endanger all those people en route?
Plan B: Have a big helicopter with a large magnet underneath!
It can be done, but requires a big double engine model with enough lifting capacity- a regular passenger/police style chopper doesn't have anywhere near enough power.
My favourite bit of cartoon mechanics has to be the hot air balloon that is brought to a halt by the occupant throwing out an anchor on the end of a rope. The rope is not long enough for the anchor to reach the ground but the balloon stops anyway.

Helicopter with large magnet..... Did you ever write for Saturday morning cartoons in the 1970s?
I could see this image in my brain, but mostly in cartoon form. Not mocking the idea, maybe it could even work, but I got a good laugh out of it. :o)
