Even that is allowing a stretch of credulity, it's obviously most likely a clot shot issue. If this is a once in 10+ years, sure, they get 1.

Was the NFL included in the only jabbed can play?

They pressured and coerced the players hard, but didn't actually mandate it. It was the fringe, dime a dozen players that were expendable. Top tier guys had more of an ability to say no, like Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers.
