Went to breakfast with two friends from HS, one who has lived in the deep south since college. Hadn't spoken to her in years. Other (vaxxed) friend I see all the time. Alabama girl was talking about how nice it was to see people from home at the holidays after the COVID shit show. When she mentioned it has been difficult because she wasn't vaccinated, I looked at her and said, "me neither!" Instant comaraderie. Then she started talking about why she wasn't vaccinated and it was like me talking. Initially it was, "I am not taking an untested vaccine from a crooked company like Pfizer that is releasing it on the condition that they can't be sued, for a virus that I have an effectively 100% chance of surviving. Especially since the flu shot I took ONCE and never again, made me sicker than the flu has ever done." Then, like me she said "I have never been anti-vax in general, but once they started telling me this is mandatory? Hell No, now this is a hill I will die on."
She was always a unique individual and a real leader. Went to college on an athletic scholarship. Was super "popular" in HS because she was so talented. But she was the nicest person you ever knew. Took time for everyone, even shitty athletes like myself. Rare bird in every way good.
Be my friend. Please. Alabama fren for the win! 🙌
".... this is the hill I will die on...."
exactly!
What did the vaxed friend say?
Nothing. It was a little satisfying TBH, because she idolized this woman.
