Imagine, if you will: Trump somehow having all of these Republicans in line, either through negotiations or military efforts, and he becomes Speaker at a very opportune time where he has the majority.

He spends the next two years investigating, and then having them charged.

Optics are bad because he's going to be investigating his political opponents and getting them sent to prison for their crimes. During this process, he lays out the groundwork for the President in 2024 to finish the fight and drain the swamp, purging the world of its musty, gross odors.

Then he steps back. "I am ready to retire, bigly."

And then DeSantis with the steel chair comes out, announces he is running for President on a platform to cleanse the remains of the swamp, and bring back order and unity within our country.

Trump -- having done his job and laid the groundwork and being ready for a relaxing time with his family -- proclaims strongly that he endorses DeSantis for President, and that "he will be the strongest candidate we've ever seen, perhaps ever since I was in office".

Later it is revealed in Trump's new autobiography that exposed it all from his point of view that this rivalry between DeSantis and Trump was an invention to sow the seeds of unity between the anti Trump left and the normies DeSantis right.

Okay, I'm dreaming a little (a lot) here, but damn for once I'd like to see reality be stranger and more fun than fiction!
