Old Christmas Day
January 6 or 7
In addition to being the Feast of the Epiphany, January 6 is known as Old Christmas Day. When England and Scotland switched over from the Julian to the Gregorian calendar in 1752, 11 days were dropped to make up for the calendar discrepancy that had accumulated with the use of the Julian calendar. In all subsequent years, Christmas arrived 11 days early. Many people, especially in rural areas, had trouble accepting the loss of these 11 days, and continued to recognize the holidays of the Julian calendar as Old Christmas, Old Candlemas, Old Midsummer Day, etc. Russians and Ukrainians celebrate this holiday on January 7.

Three Magi (Wise Men) 3 stars in the belt of the constellation Orion. "Wise Men" always the title of astrologers. In the story the three "Wise Men" or astrologers "follow the star to Bethlehem," and if we follow the path these three stars appear to take during the night as the celestial sphere rotates over our heads we will find they lead us to Virgo.
I admit that I'm an atheist and this is partially how I explain the existence of the Bible; particularly the New Testament. Don't get me started on magic mushrooms.
For debate purposes, I could take the side of Christians and say that since God is God and that God could have written the story of Jesus into the stars. What I would not be able to do as a Christian is to deny so many "coincidences". It's all there if you just look up.
Me either. I just thought it was interesting. You go through life and then learn something you thought you should have known years ago.... It always makes me want to dig more, you know?
The real Christmas celebrated by Orthodox Christians World Wide. Happy Birthday Jesus. 🙏
First Epiphany! 🙌
Yes.
I've started calling it Hillbilly Christmas.
My mother used to keep the tree up until January 6 because of "Old Christmas."
She couldn't explain more.
Here's a little info about it:

The three "magi." The Latin for this word refers to the Persian caste of priests and diviners (probably astrologers/astronomers.)
You're closer than you think.

It won’t actually let me see the site. It says “go back” and “show details”, but no continue or view anyway button.
Perhaps try a different browser?
Just posting this because I hadn't put J6 together with this before. Thought I'd share.
It is also the day of the Epiphany; you know, like a Great Awakening.
Not getting my hopes up though. Date fagging makes me sad every time.

I do find it interesting.
Today is the Brunson Brothers thing too. The three trumpeteers.
The toddler Jesus...He was two when they finally showed up.
I do remember hearing something along those lines.
