I must admit, I was surprised by the killing of Soleimani. I think there is more to it that we don't know.
Yes, there was a reason announced, don’t remember now but it was a valid reason.
Did Typical Iranian stuff. Funding Pro-Iranian Militias/Terror cells. Supporting attacks against U.S/Coalition Forces with materials, funding and support staff. Including attacks on bases, the U.S Embassy and U.S aligned forces that resulted in casualties. Including several instances where captured U.S personnel were later executed. Supporting attacks against Israel with materials, funding and support staff. Coordinated clandestine operations for the Iranian Government all over the Middle East. Allegedly in part helped plan Russian entrance into Syria. Also a major player in internal Iranian politics.
Trump allegedly placed him on a kill list as early as 2017 because of all the shit he was getting up to. Some suggestions the Iranian Clerics deliberately set him up to eliminate a threat to their power.
Dude had a lot of fingers in a lot of pies and made quite a few enemies both domestic and foreign.
Thanks, now I remember after your reply!
I have the sneaky feeling that Trump had to take responsibility for something another agency did.
A top general from the Iranian Republican Guard [military] defected to the USA several months before Solemani was turned into a smoldering stain on the tarmac.
Trump knew exactly what he was doing, and what he was planning.
