We can’t change their minds or protect them, which is a natural instinct with us as parents or grandparents. I pray, as I hope all of you do, that many are spared. I know I’m not the only one out there worried about all of this and afraid for loved ones.

Rightminded?! Please do not say that last sentence. Please renounce that. God has given you life and regardless of what happens to a family member or friend there are still others that need you. Pray for your sons and trust God. Life is gift from God!
There are times that I feel God doesn't care. I prayed since a child for him to rescue me from my mentally ill and abusive parents. I took care of them until they died so I've had no peace of mind my entire life. I'm so worn out by everything that its difficult to find any joy.
My heart goes out to you. It sounds like God DID rescue you and then he USED you to love and care for your parents in their dying years? Sometimes we miss the miracles right before our eyes. Please consider these few verses from the Bible: Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up. James 4:10 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2Tim 1:7 “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Rom 3:23 I pray that you will NOT resist or resent God, but rather run to God and trust him with your whole heart!
Thank you for providing me a different perspective. I will meditate on the scriptures that you kindly shared with me.
BLESSINGS to you!
