Some people smoke weed.
Some people don't.
Some people will be AR/VR hive mind zombies running on pure dopamine in exchange for their moving corpse.
It's up to us where we draw the line. IMO
As long as zombies stay off my lawn.
I know people who honestly need weed for adhd or to get their appetite back due to other conditions... I also know people who get stoned to escape reality and it makes them comfortable doing nothing in life.
I know people who can have a drink in the evening and some that are total alcoholics, I'm one of them. There's a difference between a margarita for someone on vacation and me blacking out on whiskey wondering where I am and why I'm covered in blood.
Met a friend in AA who has a failing liver, he can't keep the meds down that he needs or eat enough without weed. He hasn't drank for a decade and is proof that THC doesn't cause relapse. I know potheads who live in their parent's basement content on playing video games the rest of their life and others with doctorates who are amazing parents.
If you are a lazy piece of shit you're gonna be a lazy piece of shit regardless of getting stoned same as not every person who has beer is gonna start a fight. It's circumstantial to each individual. Opioids and meth are a sure bet to make anyone a peice of shit but I don't judge people for getting stoned or having a drink, I judge them on their behavior.
Well said. I know many in recovery who have been fully convinced that ANY substance with the potential to elevate your mood or relax you, or help you FORGET to be so uptight and anxious all the time, will drive you back to the bar or the gutter with all your same old user friends; so you MUST avoid even the least toxic medicine known to humankind, or else.
But they often don't seem to have that same opinion about Big Pharma offerings. Those are viewed as "safe" because they're "medicine created by scientists and doctors." Strange.
My dad thinks I'm gonna relapse if I take a puff but he's addicted to hydrocodone... thats fine for his back pain because he hasn't had a drink in 20 years (rolling eyes) I don't need to go to church or avoid having a joint in the evening I need to exercise self control and not get drunk. I lack discipline when it comes to booze so I need to prove to myself I'm not a loser without control and stay away from the shit.
