I sort of feel like my whole life has been for others. I have provided daycare services for half the price for 15 years now. I do not like the idea of daycare costing more than a mortgage. I also do not think parents need to over worry about their children and some overcrowded facility. I am at home playing mom and their kids are loved and safe. It's a win-win. I cook on the stove for the kids. I washed soiled clothing at home. And, I go 'out of my way' to wash their dishes, which apparently other day cares do not do. I put lotion on their faces daily and Neosporin for their little boo boos. Which I never considered over the top but some people act like other day cares would never do these things. I am not materialistic, I do not care about getting rich off of my job. I just love being with the kids, and the whole future is about them. And when they're old enough to talk, they get lessons on how bad communism is! LOL I hope all of that qualifies!! ♥
It is all a selfish act because we are broken, sinful man.
Romans 13:9 states: The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and whatever other command there may be, are summed up in this one command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” AS YOURSELF. We can't even receive a directive to love without a reference to our self-serving nature.
How do you serve others? What acts of kindness are your favorites? Let's make a list for all to reference.

I'll start...
Babysitting for a friend for a few hours. Small children are riotously funny, to boot, so it's a win/win.
I don't think you should boot small children for a laugh. Sounds cruel.
Baking and Taking meals to others whether they expect it or not.
Picking up the tab on a purchase of a stranger (anonymously or spontaneously).
Cleaning out and planting gardens of neighbors (when I can do it at my pace).
Become a barrista.
It is all a selfish act because we are broken, sinful man.

Helping others teaches you lessons about yourself that will make you happier at a later time.
