Oregano is a hot oil and should never be used on the body undiluted, with few exceptions. Usually it is a 4:1 ratio of carrier oil/oregano. Clove oil is also a hot oil. You can put a few drops of oregano on the feet or back undiluted, but that's it. There is a product called oreganol that is prediluted and has directions to use for children/adults...which is very important...they have a few formulations. Very powerful antibiotic...very useful. Can be taken internally in a capsule...but I would only use that in a homemade formula recommended by a qualified aromatherapist, usually from a reference book. Otherwise oregano capsules can be purchased online. Yeah...hot oils usually burn...at least you won't do that again...
They can be deadly actually...some people can be allergic to some oils and end up in the hospital. If you ever get oregano in your eye use olve oil to dilute it and to rinse it out...never water. Sometimes you forget when you have oils on your hand.

No I won't! But it did prove to me how strong some of these essential oils are.
