The place really went into the toilet after Amazon took over. The fresh food offerings were horrible and one by one the products I used to buy were no longer carried. So what was the point of making the trip for one or two over priced items.
Funnily enough some of the specialty items that Whole Foods apparently used to carry disappeared around the time that Amazon bought them. These items were often healthy alternatives, hard to find seasoning agents, even something simple like sodium citrate for a decent price disappeared from near me.
I have had to find my items now online or other places. I have a discount grocery outlet near my home and it actually sells quite a few of the items I normally buy - organics, grass fed, free range, etc. The prices are not bad either. If I hit it at the right time, they mark some items down, like organic cheese. Last time it was $2lb. I bought a boat load and froze it. So, I really don't miss WF. Amazon and the brain dead virtue signalers can have it.
I never really shopped at Whole Foods, but it was a nice place to source a few things that are now only available to get from storefronts like Amazon economically, go figure
Some people don't want you to have healthy food or supplements.
