I can only imagine. My daughter was learning trigonometry in the 4th grade while kids in America are learning about "Suzie and her two mommies and their trip to the communist bookstore" for story time.
All 4 of my children were home schooled at least part of their education. All 4 received scholarships thru the Louisiana TOPS program. If home schooling is done right there's no beating it. My wife took it seriously - had our children formally tested at the end of each school year.
That's good. My two cousins were homeschooled, but it was because 1. their parents were divorced and lived in different states, and 2. both my uncle and his ex-wife were control freaks who overly-sheltered them. They even had to ask permission to open the refrigerator to get a drink of water. My uncle was Christian, and his ex-wife was a slut who cheated on him with his "best" friend. Both used the two daughters as weapons against each other. When they reached college, my dear cousins rebelled and began sleeping around, spreading themselves thin, and ruined themselves. Both are now super libtards who can't think straight, and the youngest is a lesbian after a traumatic divorce in her early 20s. It's sad. My uncle's sense of instilling morality in them was "be good or you'll be punished." That was not a good basis for their faith and they fell apart.
It's good to hear that you have homeschooled your children and they turned out properly. All I've known from personal experience is how homeschooling enabled two control freaks ping-ponging their kids back and forth on airplanes and overly-sheltering them from the outside world.
Home schooling definitely is not for everyone. We had a stable, in tact home - we have been blessed. The way the "system" is rigged it usually take 2 incomes just to make ends meet. That takes the wife out of the home.
