I have had a couple of friends attempt to donate blood recently who were turned away because the machines weren’t able to draw from them.
Tubing issues were blamed first.
Eventually, the staff told them they couldn’t donate because the flow was being blocked by clots.
In both arms.
These people are all under the age of 35, by the way. And were under the impression they had no health issues.
I removed myself from the organ donor registry also. If they are discriminating on who can get an organ, they can't have mine.
I told all my family and friends. Do not donate organs. Oftentimes family is told false info just so they can harvest organs.
yes that is a concern as well. They need organs from a live donor, so they may pronounce brain death in order to harvest.
People have woken up from "true" brain death before, yet if youre a donor, you arent even given a chance.
I wouldnt have banned you for that. But I am sure the mods are told to boot flat earthers. I dont know the kind of workload they have. Maybe they are overworked.
Yeah his personality is abrasive, I see a lot of that here. At times I am like that too.
I dont know I am at a hockey game cant think to hard on it.
I wouldnt have done it, but not ready to condemn catsfive for it yet.
I want my organs mummified and buried with me in canopic jars just like the pharoahs
Our family lost a really good friend back in the nineties that we suspect was the victim of hospital malfeasance. He was a very healthy man in his late forties when he had to have some minor surgery that required hospitalization. In the middle of the night his wife was called and told there had been a problem. She rushed back to the hospital to find her husband on life support and told he was brain dead. She never got a straight answer as to what really happened. Everything was moving so quickly and she was in shock with no one there to help her. She was bamboozled into donating his organs - the hospital where he was at was a major transplant research hospital. When she realized what the hell had happened it was too late.
She did manage to steal his medical records from the hospital before they could change anything when they realized that she was not going away. But, she could not get an attorney to even take the case. How was she going to prove that he was killed for his organs? Loma Linda was a huge research hospital with lots of clout. People just don't want to believe that these types of things take place - especially in the US.
I've heard entire hospitals in China are built for organ harvesting.
Yes they do. You can get anything you want there for the right price. The organ harvesting here is the US is an ugly business hiding behind altruism.
Same here—I removed my name from the registry. I really hoped (a long time ago…) that someone would benefit from me via organ donation, but I’ve learned a lot about how that’s handled, and how the vultures are just waiting in the wings for you to be parted out…
Sorry that it had to be this way. We didn’t make the rules or policies, and I surely wasn’t trying to do it for any money.
When I changed my choice to NO the DMV lady got very upset. She wouldn't shut up about it. That was before covid. I have to go again this year and I'll give them a mouthful if they try to talk me into it again. I just read about the organ harvesters in the Ukraine taking injured soldiers organs and then finishing them off.
That is really none of her damn business. Be sure to give those idiots an earful if they trying pressing their entitled views on you.
We are truly having to deal with clown world.
I did the same.
It's REALLY hard.
I know of a kid, a YouTuber, who has needed two heart transplants.
He's now in palliative care.
He wouldn't be alive now if no one had donated.
On the other hand, you can't trust the people who harvest.
I have a very good friend that works at the ME's office. Right after she started working there she removed herself from being a donor. What she found out horrified her. Harvesting organs is a nasty business.
maybe wr need some FOIA requests into the organ harvesting industry
