I have had a couple of friends attempt to donate blood recently who were turned away because the machines weren’t able to draw from them.
Tubing issues were blamed first.
Eventually, the staff told them they couldn’t donate because the flow was being blocked by clots.
In both arms.
These people are all under the age of 35, by the way. And were under the impression they had no health issues.
Every charity in the world askes YOU and I to volunteer our time and efforts free of charge, yet no one employed by a charity ever volunteers their time and efforts free of charge.
That's the definition of employed, right? Get paid? Lol
Absolutely, which is why I don't work unless I'm getting paid.
I did.
Employed by a charity, also donated my spare time.
I wasn't the only one.
If you believe in the mission and you believe in giving back to your community, then you do so.
I also volunteer now -- quite a bit of my time.
I wonder if the utilities and the tax man and the mortgage company and the car loan company and the internet provider and the cell phone provider and the grocery store and the gas station and the clothing store and the travel agent will all accept "volunteer time" as sufficient payment.
