I don’t believe I’ve heard frost called anything but frost. Thanks for the education and scenery. It doesn’t get cold enough here for this. It’s very beautiful. I look at Snapchat memories daily, it’s been five years since it snowed here. Not complaining one bit! Most southern people can’t drive in the snow and not everyone has 4x4 trucks. I have to admit it’s gorgeous when it does occasionally snow.
Yeah, we South Carolinians don’t mind if it stays away. Spent 4 years in South Dakota, saw enough snow for a lifetime.
NC here your neighbor. I’d move to SC coast or Charleston in a hot minute. I visited Greenville SC for a concert years ago. No complaints. I can’t imagine living anywhere near SD. I’d love to visit the west in summer only.
I’m on the Upstate on the other side of Greenville. A smaller county than Greenville but has grown more than I would like, it’s Anderson. The lake is a few miles away, and Georgia line is in my back door. I love it here, can get to the coast in about 3 hours and to the mountains in 1 hour.
I’ve heard of Anderson. Sounds like a good place to live. Unfortunately we can’t stop progress. Greenville is the furthest west in SC I’ve been. I enjoy visiting the mountains and foothills. I’m 2.5 hours from my southern coast and at least five hours from mountains. I don’t get to the mountains like I did as child. I love where I’m from because it’s home and holds great memories. I’d move if I financially could because our area only goes downhill due to the large amount of people on welfare.
It is fairly rare here in the UK. Happens when the air is moist the temperature drops suddenly, causing spiky ice crystals. Last time I managed to photograph long spikes in chain link fencing caused by wind; pretty spectacular.
It reminds me of ice storms around here, NC. They don’t happen much and when it does we are crippled. Tall pines fall over every where because we have soft sandy soil and some areas get swampy during the winter.
