End property tax. That'd be a step.
Quite right. IMHO, that's just as more important, if not more, than the income tax. Why? property tax eliminates real property ownership. Even the founding fathers recognized how important property rights were and considered only land owners having the right to vote. Without property rights, all our rights including privacy, is forsaken and undermined.
States will have to sack up and do that themselves.
These are far from being as important as property taxes and income taxes. Try not paying property taxes, your home will be confiscated. This is actually a widespread racket government is involved in. People have lost their homes by mistakenly paying a few dollars short of the amount owed. This happens with either little to no way to stop the action. There is all too little remedy to this. Tens of thousands of people lose their property and homes this way. There was a reason why the founding fathers recognized land ownership to be so important to secure our freedoms. Government recognizes this and has established the property tax to undermine or to make insecure your freedom. The power of the vote was once advocated to be based on property ownership rights.
Not paying income tax is a longer process to which liens and penalties are used against your assets. This includes your home and property. There's an avenue to escape this persecution by using mediation through legal representation. Income tax taxes the sweat of brow or the productivity of the individual based on income.
Alot of it will when Nikola Tesla's suppressed technologies get revealed to the masses.
Taxation is theft u/#triggered
So how does this work for people who are retired early or inherited money and don't work? A 23% sales tax is almost 3x my Texas sales tax
It we have to have a tax, a flat tax or consumption tax should be what the average effective tax rate is for all Americans, which used to be around the 13-15% range.
Canadian border-town retailers will be thrilled at a 23% sales tax in the States.
