I believe you have not read the Zohar or understood its secrets. Neither have you dove deep into the book of formation. Rabbinic law prohibits official studying of this material unless you are a man, married, and are 40 years old. Do you know who Abraham’s teacher was? Where and how he learned the secrets of ages? And there is no hell, not eternal place of torment. Hell would be eternal separation from the creator. And I’m aware of the rabbinic contradictions and interpretations. But there is wisdom hidden in all faiths of the world. All esoteric knowledge has one origin. The master key unlocks all locks.
First off, Judaism, due to the nature of our day and age, has suspended the prohibitions on studying Kabbalistic texts. However, the fact that these prohibitions existed should give you pause - proof that they are pure unadulterated medieval Gnosticism. Secret knowledge prohibited to the common filthy masses like the children, the poor, the widows and the orphans.
It doesn’t matter that medieval gnostics anachronistically believe that Abraham studied in the Academy of Shem (who they believe is aka Malki-Tzedek). It makes ZERO difference because the actual Word of God, the Torah states that Abraham was a “friend of God.”
You get it yet? Direct revelation through relationship is what Hashem is all about. Not how many occultic secrets you can amass from blind guides. That revelation can only be found in His Word, as per His Word - both the written Scriptures and His Son Who is the fulfilled embodiment of those very Scriptures.
If you are trying to get “wisdom” from all faiths you are a fool since the fear of Hashem is the beginning of wisdom. Why drink from polluted and poisoned wells when the Father is literally freely offering you the purest water of life? Foolishness!
Truth and Wisdom are a Person. Not intellectual pursuits. Seek the Person. He is a friend to the poor. He judges the cause of the widow and the orphan. He welcomes little children and those who want to see Him must become like little children. But he resists the proud. He mocks those who are wise in their own eyes.
Hell IS eternal separation from God. That is why it is Hell. God is the source of all joy, pleasure, life, good, etc. People who want nothing to do with Him will get what they want in the end. Only they don’t understand that the pleasure they stole from sin was an abuse of God’s grace. They will be forever rejecting God and rejected by God. In God’s eternal garbage dump, if you will. Out of His sight and out of His mind for eternity. There will be no grey areas, no reprieves - like here in this mortal fading world - there will only be absolute black and white, light and darkness, Heaven and Hell.
Scripture and Messiah’s own words are clear on this. And we are not to take away or add to it.
You are blinded by your ignorance of other sacred texts. Judaism and all of its secrets are but a small part of the whole. Venture outside if you wish to be enlightened. After all a man of faith does not fear losing his faith in the face of new revelations of truth. I wish you well on your journey, Tikkun Olam.
Don’t you mean “Tikkun olam b’malchut Shaddai”? That is the actual direct quote. Since their is no tikkun olam without the Almighty’s Sovereignty.
And your assumption is false. Just because I said other religious texts aren’t a source of pure untainted wisdom doesn’t mean I have neither read nor studied them. I’ve studied both Religious Studies in University and Seminary Apologetics… not to mention my own private studies. My point is, one can read, say, Greek Mythology, but would be a fool to look to it as a guide for one’s eternal destiny - whether you believe that destiny includes Hell or not.
Don’t be duped by gnosis. As Proverbs highlights, Wisdom is found in the public marketplace calling out to the simple. She is not found in secret rooms of elite cabals and obscure texts of ascetics and wannabe high priests.
All the best! Thanks for the lively conversation - it is much appreciated. Huge blessings and peace!
Wisdom and enlightenment is not hidden. It is hidden in a sense due to ignorance and lack of understanding, and thus lack of belief. Wisdom is never hidden, it always reaches those who are intended to know. So no you don’t have to go to secret meetings and take part in secret rituals and take oath of secrecy to never reveal the secrets. All who are meant to know will know as allowed by natural law. You can’t blind people with too much light. You can’t shine a torch in the eye of those lost in the darkness, because you would essentially be doing nothing for them. But if you shine in the dark and allow those to be drawn to you, then you are doing what the creator intended for you you to do as a spark of his ever lasting light and love. As Christ would teach his apostles, the kingdom of God is within. If you have seen the son, you have seen the father. As above so below.
